The wife and I have a small child at home so a full week or 10 days away wasn’t an option from the start. We had Thursday-Sunday to work with. We wanted a direct flight to somewhere at least a bit warm and Malta was the obvious (also, almost only) choice. Wildly off-season travel turns out to be a godsend.
